Eagle Creek
November 14, 2008
This past weekend I was in Oregon visiting Sarah and other friends from Dartmouth. Truly it was a lovely time. On Saturday, Sarah and I went for an initially lovely but eventually cold and wet hike up Eagle Creek, in the Columbia River Gorge. It was the first time that I had been in a new ecosystem in quite a while – t’was wonderful. I have a few pictures attached – I hope you like black and white.
- Pretty sure this is a stealhead – might be a salmon – I don’t know my sea run fish
- The mist and clouds came in and out
- Almost looks like a rainforest
- You’re it!
- Looking north towards the Columbia

The hyper-crisp pictures of Ansel Adams are not the only way to do black-and-white photos of the outdoors, as your nice atmospheric images demonstrate. I especially like the mist and clouds one. I was in that general area once (Multnomah Falls, then north to climb Adams). The weather was freakishly sunny and dry on that trip!
